Portable Breath Alcohol Instruments
Portable breath alcohol testing systems are a category of instruments that fall in size and price between handheld and desktop breath testing systems. While similar to Transportable breath testing systems in their transportable functionality, these systems are battery operated, making them truly portable. Used in law enforcement and workplace testing environments, portable breath alcohol test systems are lightweight and ideal for mobile evidential testing applications. Portable systems support mobile printing and in many cases mobile data collection.

DOT Training Courses
The U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol testing program requires technicians to be trained according to a specific curriculum [reference 49 CFR Part 40.213 (b)(1)}. This curriculum is quite thorough and is also appropriate for nonregulated workplace and industrial alcohol testing programs.
"Intox Training Academy" provides United States of America Department of Transport and Workplace Training Options which meet the specifications of the referenced curriculum.
Training is an important element in any drug and alcohol testing program. Any employer who takes an adverse personnel action against an employee who fails a DOT alcohol test should be prepared to defend the training of the BAT (Breath Alcohol Technician) during possible litigation proceedings that may develop as a result of that action. It is incumbent upon employers to protect themselves by requiring training programs that use competent instructors. Any person or company who trains BATs needs to be prepared to provide documentation to employers that they are performing the training in accordance with the DOT rules and requirements.
For this reason, we strongly urge persons who expect to train BATs to invest in an Instructor course. As long as you have been regularly conducting alcohol tests with your Intoximeters equipment for at least one year and are thoroughly familiar with the current DOT regulations regarding alcohol testing, you may train others according to the latest DOT regulations contained in 49 CFR Part 40. The best way to obtain that information is through a factory instructor course, but we also offer training materials to help with the instruction of BATs.
The Intoximeters training program package includes :
• General information on DOT BAT training,
• Intoximeters training options and price sheet,
• A current DOT training schedule,
• A registration form.

The Alco-Sensor IV (ASIV)
Is a handheld breath alcohol tester. It provides a simple, accurate and economical method of determining a subject’s breath alcohol concentration with evidential grade accuracy.
Unique Features:
The Alco-Sensor IV follows an automated, software driven test protocol. Each function is displayed on an LED display which provides the operator with step-by-step instructions for fail-safe testing. The ASIV automatically samples deep lung breath and displays the result in a three digit readout (two or four digits where required). The proper insertion of the mouthpiece powers the instrument ON and a mouthpiece release feature, which eliminates operator contact with a used mouthpiece, turns the instrument OFF.

The Alco-Sensor FST Maritime (ASFST)
Provides precise, accurate, repeatable results on direct breath sample testing. The instrument is also designed to offer a simple passive testing procedure for quick screening of a large number of subjects and the capability of measuring the headspace over a solution to identify alcohol in a suspected open container. While the Alco-Sensor FST is designed to withstand field use in a policing environment, it is also designed to offer intuitive, simple operating procedures and have sample collection requirements that minimize risk to the operator.
Unique Features:
The Alco-Sensor FST was designed with operator safety in mind. Unlike other instruments available in the market, the symmetric design and rear facing display of the ASFST allows an operator to remain in control of the subject, view the instrument display, monitor the surrounding environment and divert the subject’s breath so that they are not directly in the breath stream during the sample collection process. The Alco-Sensor FST also offers advantages in low light operations such as a backlit LCD display, an illuminated mouthpiece guide, a “lever and snap” mouthpiece insertion and optional multi-color backlit display messaging to warn of important test conditions.
